Playery1.0 · macOS

One wall. All season.

You have a room, a projector, and a film or a folder of stills to put on the wall. Add the files, put them in order, press Play. Nothing but the picture reaches the wall: no desktop, no cursor, no window.

How it works

One machine, one wall, one thing to press.

  1. 01

    Open it

Open the disk image and drag it to Applications. It is signed and notarised by Apple, for Apple silicon and Intel, so macOS asks nothing.

  2. 02

    Your first wall

Plug the projector in and the wall goes black. Add files, click a row to cue it, press Take to put it on the wall. Space plays and pauses.

  3. 03

    Leave it

Opening hours start the room in the morning and take it dark at night, and a phone on the same wifi changes what is showing.

What it plays

Films and stills, up to 4K, and it says so before a file reaches the wall.

  1. Q1

    Video

    H.264, HEVC, VP8, VP9 and AV1, in MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV

  2. Q2

    Stills

JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF

  3. Q3

    Subtitles

From a file beside the video

  4. Q4

    Not yet

ProRes and DNxHD; the card says so before the wall sees it
