Where Sialk Player goes.

1. Todaynow

   the public beta, free

   Signed and notarised, in the company's look. Playlists as documents a room can keep, copy and open elsewhere. Starts itself with the Mac. The run log readable in the app. Prepare for the wall. Free within three files in a playlist. The beta ends on a count, not a date: three rooms that are not the founder's have each run a season.

2. 1.0

   the launch

   Licensing and payments, and the commercial sentence. A still and a cover: a frame at a chosen second for the room's own records. Intel Macs, since a gallery's laptop is often older than a performer's.

3. 1.1

   the film's own

   In and out points per entry. A seamless loop, the next pass preloaded so a looping work never blinks. A dissolve or a dip to black between entries. Per-file volume and mute. A title card between films. The wall's picture on the phone. Collect: every file copied into the playlist's own folder, so the stick can leave the building.

4. 1.2

   the room's week

   A playlist per day, and a different one for the evening. Holidays and one-off closures. Volume by the hour. PJLink, so the projector powers on at the open time and off at the close. The audio device and a lip-sync offset. A second wall from one Mac, when a room with two walls appears.

5. 1.3

   what it can read

   Embedded subtitle tracks without ffmpeg. Subtitle size and position, and a language switch on the phone. Audio-only files with a still. PDF pages and image sequences as stills. Playback speed per entry.

6. 1.4

   the projector

   Rotation for a portrait wall. A test pattern and an alignment grid. Brightness and gamma per output. A margin and an offset.

7. 1.5

   the room's records

   The play log exported for the artist, the insurer or the funder. A wall label shown for a set time at the start of a work. VoiceOver and keyboard-only operation. French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
